1. Contest Organizer
This contest is organized by 8760 Expense Management (“the Organizer”), with its head office at 1201-10123-99th street Edmonton, AB.

2. Eligibility

  • The contest is open to residents of Alberta, Canada, who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.
  • Employees, representatives, or agents of the Organizer, as well as their immediate family members or those living in the same household, are not eligible to participate.
  • Participants must meet all entry requirements specified below.

3. How to Enter
To enter the contest:

  • Purchase either a:
  • Home Energy Plan, or
  • Small Business Energy Plan from the Organizer
  • With Energy Plan being defined as a fixed price contract for either electricity and/or natural gas with a term length of at least 1 year.
  • Complete the online contest entry form available at www.8760.ca/giveaway-business
  • Follow 8760 Expense Management on Instagram or Facebook
  • You may enter the contest only once for each site ID for either electricity or natural gas. If the purchase of an Energy Plan includes both electricity and natural gas, the purchaser will receive one entry for each site ID included in said Energy Plan.

4. No Purchase Necessary

  • Residents of Alberta who do not wish to purchase a plan may enter the contest by sending a handwritten letter (minimum 50 words) explaining why they are interested in energy savings, along with their full name, address, email, and phone number to 8760 Expense Management, 1201-10123-99th Street, Edmonton, AB T5J 3H1. These entries will be treated equally with purchased entries.

5. Contest Period

  • The contest begins on January 13, 2025 at 12:00 AM MST and ends on February 28, 2025 11:59 PM MST.
  • All entries must be received by the Organizer by the contest closing date and time.

6. Prizes

  • One (1) prize of $500 for participants who purchase a Home Energy Plan.
  • One (1) prize of $1,000 for participants who purchase a Small Business Energy Plan.
  • Prizes are awarded as a credit to the winner’s home energy and/or small business energy account with 8760 Expense Management.
  • If the Energy Plan is cancelled within 1 year of the purchase date, the Organizer reserves the right to claw back the awarded prize up to and including the full prize amount, based on the sole discretion of the Organizer.

7. Winner Selection and Notification

  • Winners will be randomly selected in a draw conducted no later than end of day March 31, 2025 at 8760 Expense Management, 1201-10123-99th Street, Edmonton, AB.
  • Before being declared a winner: The selected entrant will be contacted by EMAIL and notified that they are eligible to win. The selected entrant must reply within five (5) business days of notification and provide the Organizer with a contact phone number. The selected entrant must first correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by telephone. The Organizer will then email, and the selected entrant will be required to sign and return within one (1) business day of notification a declaration of eligibility and a liability/publicity release, which:
  • confirms compliance with the contest rules;
  • releases the Organizer, its affiliated companies and agents, advertising and promotion agencies and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives, successors and assigns from any liability in connection with the contest, the entrant’s participation therein and/or the awarding and use or misuse of the prize or any portion thereof; and
  • grants to the Organizer the right to use the selected entrant’s name, address and likeness in any form of advertising relating to the contest without further notice or compensation.
  • If a selected entrant: (i) cannot be contacted by email within five (5) business days of selection or there is a return of any prior email notification as undeliverable; (ii) fails to correctly answer the skill-testing question; or (iii) fails to return the contest documents within the specified time, then he/she will be disqualified and will forfeit the prize, and the Organizer reserves the right to select an alternate entrant from among the remaining eligible entries.

8. Odds of Winning

  • The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the contest period.

9. General Conditions

  • The prize must be accepted as awarded and is non-transferable. No substitutions or cash alternatives will be provided.
  • The Organizer is not responsible for any technical failures, entry errors, or other issues that may affect the contest process.

10. Legal Compliance

  • This contest complies with the Canadian Criminal Code and all applicable laws and regulations in Alberta.
  • The contest is subject to federal, provincial, and municipal laws.

11. Privacy

  • Personal information collected through the entry process is used solely for the administration of the contest and will not be shared, sold, or used for any other purpose without the entrant’s consent, except as required by law.

12. Organizer’s Rights

  • The Organizer reserves the right to cancel, modify, or suspend the contest in the event of unforeseen circumstances or if required by law.
  • Any attempt to tamper with the entry process or the administration of the contest may result in disqualification.

13. Limitation of Liability

  • By entering the contest, participants agree to release and hold harmless the Organizer, its employees, and affiliates from any claims or damages arising from participation in the contest or acceptance of the prize.
